John Carrozza has spent more than 17 years managing and leading successful talent acquisition teams. After a successful career in the IT consulting staffing space, he spent a decade-long career in talent acquisition in the fast-paced and highly creative entertainment industry. From leading implementation of talent management systems and high-volume recruiting at Universal Studios, to managing the enterprise talent acquisition function for corporate and financial teams at the Walt Disney Company, he honed his recruiting leadership skills in very complex corporate environments. Later, he assumed leadership as head of professional talent acquisition at Walt Disney Imagineering (the themepark and resort design and development division of the Walt Disney Company). For more than six years, he led a globally facing team of talent acquisition specialists who combed the world for engineers, designers, artists, and other creative team leaders in a highly competitive and politically charged environment. Later, he served on consulting projects for NBCUniversal and DirectTV.
He has designed and developed training and development programs for talent acquisition and talent acquisition teams drawing upon his performance background. Prior to his talent acquisition career, he had a successful career in community organizing and non-profit blood banks. Outside of his work in talent acquisition, he is an accomplished independent film, video and web producer, with several producing credits to his name. A native of New York, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from St. John’s University. He is based in Los Angeles.
